The Staff Laboratory Scientist analysis of medical devices, and in the quality control of current products, by scientists and technicians in the designs, developments, improvements Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Oversee and lead product, manufacturing, quality or testing support activities to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations as directed.
:
Lead new product development and sustaining activities on medical instruments including studies related to assembly, disassembly, cleaning, reverse engineering, and automation.
:
Manage and lead completion of laboratory continuous improvement projects.
:
Must be able to communicate to peers and upper management project updates and scope.
:
Lead creation or revisions of test protocols, procedures,and studies utilizing sound scientific and statistical rationale.
:
Record, interpret, review, and approve laboratory results.
:
Assist 510(k) development process.
:
Keep up to date with technical developments and implement procedures/technologies which can save time and improve reliability.
:
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Biotechnology :
Master's Degree in a scientific discipline is highly preferred.
:
5:
7 years of experience in a regulated laboratory or medical device environment :
Expert in medical terminology/concepts related to medical devices, AAMI TIR30, ISO 17025,ISO 10993, ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, Cleaning agents, protein interactions etc.
:
Project management experience.
Able to lead cross functioning teams involved in pursuing a common goal.
:
Must have knowledge in Lean Six Sigma and 5S Principles :
Working knowledge of adhesives, cleaning, disassembly, reverse engineering would be advantageous :
Excellent organizational skills and ability to plan/prioritize activities :
Ability to work independently or with a team :
Strong verbal and written communication skills Work Environment :
Microsoft Office, Word, Excel,Power Point, Outlook, Minitab :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

May be exposed to Hazardous materials.
