Job Description:
-Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
-Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
-Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
-Lift or move materials and finished products, using overhead and jib cranes.
-Locate and mark work piece bending and cutting lines, allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications.
-Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding.
-Design and construct templates and fixtures when needed.
Requirements:
7+yrs experience in metal fabrication.
Must be able to read intricate drawings.
Must know drawing symbols such as weld symbols, machining symbols, etc.
Must have strong math skills, including geometry Must have good communication skills.
Must have good leadership skills (plans ahead, leads by example, safe work practices, etc.
) Must pass 2G Welding test.
PHYSICAL REQUIEREMENTS:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be capable of pushing and pulling heavy loads.
Walking, standing, reaching, stooping, crouching and climbing.
Ability to work in extreme heat.
